Bob McElroy - President & CEO

Bob McElroy is the founder of the Alpha Project in 1986. He is responsible for the overall operation of Alpha Project. Bob spearheads the agency’s efforts to end homelessness for the people we serve by providing quality programs and services. He provides the overall leadership and direction to staff, including his executive team and over 250 staff members. He is also a leading advocate regarding homelessness and other concerns that impact San Diego’s very low-income, vulnerable populations by leading the agency’s policy efforts.  

 

Jan Norby - Chief Financial Officer, CPA

Janice Williams - Chief Business Development Officer

Janice Williams, with Alpha Project since 2009, is responsible for heading the agency’s public relations, media, marketing, sponsorship, and fundraising efforts. She works closely with the development team in collaborative fundraising efforts. Additionally, Janice oversees the day-to-day operation of the family shelter, kitchen operations, and the agency’s Rapid Rehousing, Prevention, Diversion, and Case Management programs. Leticia Martinez-Odanga - Chief Administrative Officer

Leticia Martinez-Odanga started her service with Alpha Project in 2000 and spent many years supporting the CFO while managing technology and human resources. In 2020, she became the Chief Administrative Officer overseeing technology and HR, including recruiting and onboarding new employees, managing benefits, updating policies and procedures, ensuring safety, and other HR issues. Kyla Winters - Chief Development Officer, Volunteer

After becoming permanently disabled in 2009, Kyla volunteers to provide technical assistance and training to agency directors and officers.  Since 1998, she has led the development department in creating private and public funding sources. Karen Pucci - Senior Director of Shelter Services, Outreach and Special Projects 

Starting with Alpha Project in 2001, Karen Pucci has nearly twenty years serving the homeless community. Karen’s time is primarily dedicated to the day-to-day operations of two bridge shelters for adults, serving 350+ daily. Karen also oversees outreach services and the agency’s work crews, including its Take Back the Streets program and other work crews deployed on behalf of the City of San Diego. The newest work program, Wheels of Change, operates from one of the bridge shelters offering residents the opportunity to earn a stipend while picking up trash in the immediate vicinity surrounding the shelter. Jason Rodriguez - Senior Director of Alcohol and Drug Services

Jason Rodriguez is responsible for the day-to-day management of the agency’s state-licensed residential treatment program, from which he graduated in 1999. Since then, he became a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, I and II, eventually becoming a Sr. Director and a member of Alpha Project’s Board of Directors. Jason is also responsible for overseeing Alpha Lofts, the agency’s supportive housing program for homeless veterans. Jason Is also the agency’s north county liaison. Travis Larson - Senior Director of Supportive Housing

Travis Larson came to Alpha Project in 2009 as an educator. Travis has over a decade of experience in providing direct services and program oversite for outreach, transitional housing programs, and supportive housing programs. Since 2015, Travis has overseen Alpha Project’s flagship supportive housing program, Alpha Square, for people with special needs, including those with severe mental illness.
